It’s easy to forget you in the dark
All my dreams are lost to me
When the lights go out
And I’m all alone

I can’t stop thinking about
All of my fears and my doubts
And ruminating on my wasted time
But the voice of truth is loud in me
And says “Whatever happens, that’s what has to be”
You know it takes, it takes what it takes
To make a thing a thing

I want the weight of the world
off of my back
I don’t wanna die with my suitcase unpacked
and my gifts in the bag

I’m tired of judging myself
And measuring my life against everybody else
I don’t want to waste my precious time

Why fight with history
Whatever happened that’s had to be

To make a thing a thing

I spent so much time

For what was not mine
And oh, what a burden wanting anything that I do not need
